Join us as we take an adventurous tour to one of the 7 Wonders of the World, the Badaling Great Wall. Whereas Genghis Khan contemplated this wall as a military obstacle, Richard Nixon described it as one of humankind's greatest achievements. Walking on the top of this wall, you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of spectacular mountain views as well as some parts of Beijing City. It is highly recommended that you carry a jacket and make sure you are in good health! This region can be breezy at times and the trek is long and drawn out.
50 miles from the bustling Beijing downtown lies the spectacular Ming Tombs at the foot of the Heavenly Longevity Mountain in northwestern Beijing. We will start with the great Changling Tomb where Emperor Yongle, Beijing’s first emperor, and his Empress Xu were buried. This is the largest of the thirteen Ming Tombs. After this we will walk along the Sacred Way, a road guarded by stone statues on both sides, as the ancient emperors did when holding a memorial ceremony for their ancestors. To finish a tour we will encounter the marble tombs of the Ming Dynasty emperors before returning to our hotel in Beijing.
