Day 3: Hong Kong (B)

Sightseeing: Kim Tin Walled Village, Man Mo Temple, Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree

In the morning, start the tour off with a visit to Kim Tin Walled Village. In 1899, when the New Territories were leased to the British army, the British soldiers were met with resistance from the local people residing in Kim Tin Walled Village. Through they were easily defeated; today Kim Tin Walled Village is a frequent destination for foreign visitors. Enjoy a photo opt with one of the several old men standing in front of the village garbed in country clothes.
The next stop will be one of the oldest and most well-known temples in the territory, Man Mo Temple. Originally built in 1848 during the early years of British sovereignty, this historic temple has been rebuilt numerous times, though much of the original structure remains intact.
The last stop for the day is the Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree. Situated close to the Tin Hau Temple, this unique spectacle is covered in crimson paper that holds the wishes and desires of past visitors. Make a wish for yourself then hang the thin sheet of paper along with a tangerine to ensure all of your wishes come true.
